VK Designs is dedicated to using ethically obtained materials in the belief that everyone deserves respect and the chance for a healthy life.

Valerie transforms responsibly-sourced precious metals and unexpected cuts of diamonds and sapphires into small monuments of infused symbolism.

She is a traditionally trained goldsmith with years of experience on the bench and designing directly with clients to create eloquent designs that are notably comfortable and enduring.

The forms are modern, sleek, and quietly organic.

Valerie started her metalsmithing studies in sculpture, and she found her designs evolving into smaller, more symbolic sculptures – jewelry. When Valerie is not busy forging, casting, or finishing jewelry, she enjoys creating art in other ways, including figure drawing, fashion and landscaping.

VK Designs Responsible Jewelry was launched by goldsmith Valerie Kasinskas in 2005. Today, the entire studio is run by Valerie and her twin sister Rachel.

All designs by VK Designs are hand made by Valerie in their Portland, OR studio.

All of the jewelry is crafted from responsibly-sourced materials. They are dedicated to creating unique designs featuring recycled and FAIRMINED™ metals, and ethically sourced gemstones. They create CUSTOM JEWELRY as well as offer a line of READY-TO-WEAR daily jewelry.

VK Designs uses recycled and ethically-sourced metals, as well as certified conflict-free gemstones and diamonds. They donate a portion of profits every year to organizations that support ethical practices in the field of jewelry and mining, including EARTHWORKS, and ETHICAL METALSMITHS.
